Working in a medium that combines color, texture and design is the dream of many artists.  As a designer and knitter, I am able to do precisely that.  The yarns I use to create my unique pieces of wearable arts range from wools to silks to fancies, from the softest silks and angora to wonderfully textured cottons and wools.   Many of these yarns are hand spun and hand dyed or made especially for me in this country or in Europe.  The buttons, which are equally unique, are frequently hand made from glass, ceramic, abalone and other interesting materials.

I have always been inspired by color and texture and when I ponder a skein of yarn, I always try to envision what the finished garment will be like.  Sometimes, it works out precisely as I expect, while at other times, it seems to have a mind of its own and becomes something quite unexpected and even better that I originally imagined.   As a former math and science teacher, people who meet me wonder how this type of work can be reconciled with the artistry that comes from my knitting needles.  I enjoy telling them that it is because I am left-handed and therefore use both sides of my brain.  Besides which, creating a pattern is very mathematical and mathematicians argue that math is very artistic!

After 22 years in Westbrook, Connecticut, we've moved to Vermont! We're still in the process of moving, so please be patient if you have tried to contact us and haven't gotten a response.

Once all the work is done (or most of it!), look for the grand opening of our new studio in Arlington, Vermont - less than 5 miles from Manchester Center and conveniently located on historic Route 7A.
